Parks

It might be strange that my favorite part about the city is the parks, since parks are actually an escape from the city.  But what I really love about the parks here, apart from the fact that they are green which is not a color I grew up seeing much, is that people actually use the parks.  At any given time you can walk into a park in the city and see people relaxing and killing time.  Central Park is, of course, the mother of all the parks featuring a plethora of amenities and things to do from lakes, to rowboats, to feeding ducks, a castle, gardens, bike paths, food, sports fields, dog parks, playgrounds, bridges, ponds, statues, everything you could want for a beautiful day outside.  A few minutes after you walk into Central Park you will forget where you are, the noise and the craziness of the city will disappear faster than you thought possible.  Here are some pictures from parks around the city.

This little guy was hanging out in Washington Square Park, this guy must have been around a lot feeding him nuts because it looks like they really trust each other.
