I never know what to call Katie. Technically, she is my sister's sister-in-law, but that doesn't seem to do Katie justice. I have known her since about 5th or 6th grade, so she is pretty much my sister too. Katie came into town for a bit on her way to visit her friend, Meredith. We met with a group at Amy Ruth's in Harlem which is known for their chicken and waffles. I, however, opted for the banana pecan waffles because my sweet tooth has been getting the best of me lately. They did not disappoint.
After a delicious and very filling breakfast, Katie, Meredith, and I made our way to the Highline. It was an absolutely gorgeous day for the park. We enjoyed a nice stroll and relaxed and chatted in the grass for a bit.
It wasn't a lot of time but it was great to see a familiar face and to make a new friend.
