A lot of New Yorkers look down on Jersey, particularly Manhattanites, but I wouldn't want to live in Manhattan. I love that I can get there any time that I want, I am in the city every day, but I get to go home to some peace and normality. It's especially funny when the Brooklyn kids make faces about Jersey, because I have never seen so many giant rats running in the streets than when I was in BK last week. And my trip to work is shorter than some of them. I'm just sayin'...don't knock it until you've tried it. For people used to only taking subways I could see that it might be a bit less convenient, but I enjoy my bus ride in to the city. I get cell phone reception the whole way and check up on all my news before heading to work. I also really enjoy the neighborhood; there a lot of Dominicans, Cubans, and Puerto Ricans. It is very much a family neighborhood, lively during the day and quiet at night. Lots of porch sitting and get-togethers in backyards. I live down the street from an elementary school, above a Venezuelan restaurant, and across from my laundromat. Two blocks from my house is a beautiful walk overlooking the Hudson river and the NYC skyline. I love taking strolls there or reading on a bench. I always forget that Manhattan is an island, and when I was living in Astoria I wasn't anywhere near the water. I abslutely love seeing the water everyday, maybe it's a Pisces thing.
I am really happy with my decision to move here; I feel very safe in this community and am really loving living alone.
My fridge the first two weeks I lived here...I get a LOT of delivery. Hands down, best part of NYC. I am lazy and I like to eat. Also, that beautiful red beverage you see on your right is one of the best things I got out of my relationships with Morris. It's a Dominican soda and the Frambuesa (raspberry) flavor taste exactly like a melted ICEE. It is sooooooo good!
26. Living alone. Four stuffed animals.....Uh.....
To be fair, I only came with two. The puppy pillow pet was a gift from my sister because I miss my puppies. The animated baby polar bear that makes little whimpers and blinks his eyes when you rub his belly was a gift from my Mom. It was very nice of her to buy him after I snuck him in our cart at Wal Mart when I was home for Christmas. BUT, my pillows are awesome and super grown-up.
I spy NYC.

This shit happens alllllllllllllll the time. I can't help but think this rain stuff would be much better appreciated by almost anyone else I know from Arizona. I really hate rain for longer than 5 minutes and if it's less than 77 degrees outside.
