Day 66: PHX SUNS!

Today was an exciting day!

I called 911, learned firsthand that Lizzie Grubman is an annoying bitch, and most importantly I got to see the SUNS BEAT THE KNICKS!

At work there was a drunk man that came into the restaurant to get out of the cold and wait for his friend to pick him up.  He was there about an hour and a half, half asleep and completeley blitzed.  Eventually we had to kick him out and he passed out in front of the restaurant.  Apparently when someone tried to wake him up he stood and instantly fell down hitting his head and starting to bleed, which is when I was told by my managers to call 911.  Calling 911 really scares me.  I always feel like if it's not an emergency, like someone trying to break in my house or someone being attacked, then there should be a better number to call.  Maybe it's time for a 8-1-1. A little less than an emergency.

After that hoopla while I was dutifully slaving away my manager came up and asked if my boyfriend liked hockey.   I said yes because I knew I would be getting tickets and although M doesn't really like hockey he said yes when I called and asked him to go.  Next I found out that we had box seats!  And then next I found out that my manager was confused and it was a KNICKS game not a hockey game!!! WHAT WHAT! I have been dying to go to a Knicks game since coming here.  I work across from Madison Square Garden.  So this was absolutely fabulous news, and also for Morris who is a much bigger basketball fan than hockey fan.  And this is the best part...I called my dad to brag about my box seats and he informed me that the Knicks were playing the Suns that night!!!!!!!!! Holy moly, I freaked out.  I was SO stoked! I couldn't believe how perfectly that all worked out!

There was free food and beverages and alcohol in the box and Morris and I had a really great time.  It was his first Knicks game too.  I felt safe within my fancy box with only 5 other people to freely cheer on my Phoenix Suns.  It was a nice little taste of home and so good to see them win.  It was a close game so it was pretty excited.  However, I was told by a gentleman in the box with us that my 2-month free pass was up and after two months in NYC I have to start cheering for New York teams.  I would under any other circumstances but never when they are playing my Suns.  But eff the Cardinals, I will always cheer for the Jets and Giants before them.
