Day 19: always room for ice cream

This post is a day late because I fell asleep watching Best in Show last night.

Yesterday was a good day. I signed up for a couple volunteer opportunities. One will to be a reading tutor to a child for a semester. The other is a one time event in Brooklyn. It will be a Holiday party for underprivileged children; we will wrap gifts with them. I'm excited to get out and be productive! I haven't been the best lately.

I also started watching All About Eve yesterday....see, not productive. But I also did laundry. I think that makes it okay. Anyway, I love that movie! Bette Davis is fantastic! I love how feisty and crazy she is. And Marilyn Monroe has a small part in it, one of her first film roles. I love the way they talk in old movies, the dialogue and the voice inflections. It's wonderful. I will have to finish it soon.

During the rinse cycle at the laundromat I busted out some Anne Frank. It really is a shame that I haven't ever read it so I am going to now. Again, what a day for spunky females. I just started but I love her already. I hadn't anticipated such a colorful and thoughtful voice to come through in a girl's diary.

Morris took to me to dinner at a place he hadn't tried in Astoria called Brick Cafe. It was really quiet and really good. We shared bruschetta, French onion soup (my first time! I've been missing out) and a pasta with salmon, asparagus, and brandy cream sauce.

On our way home we picked up the Ben & Jerry's Late Night Snack and polished that off watching Best in Show. Vanilla bean ice cream with a caramel ribbon and chocolate covered potato chip clusters!!!!!
